    Description

    Tetanus is a disease caused by bacteria. These bacteria enter the body through a wound and attack the nervous system, causing very painful muscle contractions. Vaccination is the best way to protect against tetanus.

    Signs and symptoms

    • Muscle spasms in the jaw
    • Vocal chords spasms
    • Muscle spasms throughout the body

    Possible complication

    • Death (10% of cases)
